Even a girl can do it

I gotta brag on Mrs Zombie Killer a bit. She hates the fact that I hunt and kill little Bambi. She has only been to deer camp a half dozen times in 20+ years. So it was tough to get her here on Easter weekend.

While here, she wanted to shoot the "rifle with no backlash (recoil)". So I got out the heavy 300 BO, and we had a little fun.
I have steel set up out to 500 yards.
She shot 2 shots at 200 yards, 2 shots at 300 yards, and 1 single shot at 400.
All hit steel. This is her shot at 400 yards.

Was out popping a few rounds and the wife asked what I was shooting? I told her my Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 Mag. Her remark? I've shot that before. Let me shoot it.
?? I don't think you've shot it and you DON'T want to shoot it now. I wan't to shoot it!!
Well, OK.
Loaded up a pretty hot 250 grain hollow point round and handed it to her. Put my leg against her back as she got down and told her "you have to cock the hammer and whatever you do, don't drop it". She got ready and BANG!! Handed it back to me and said "I don't want to shoot it anymore". She prefers my Ruger Single Six in 22 LR. ;)

My home range was a proving ground for boyfriends of both of my daughters. Both daughters had shot .45 ACP from ten years of age on up on bullseye, bowling pins and steel plates. Most of the boyfriends wanted to show off and shoot. I told both daughters to not hold back. If the prospective boyfriends' egos were so fragile they couldn't take a woman out-shooting them then they weren't men enough for my daughters. Several went down the road...two stuck. Both took serious interest and became as good a shot as my daughters.

I will gladly admit my wife is a much better rifle shot than me and loves big bore rifles including 4570s while I dont go above mini actions. My brothers wife is an excellent shot also.

But I rip them all new ones with pistols, so it evens out.

I CAN wait for the day when my grand daughters start having boy friends. There daddy's and grandpa will be ready for them. My grand daughters will out shoot and handle a fly rod better than any of them. The process has already started and they are 6 and 11. Only wish my wife would come to the range with me, as most of my friends are low or out of primers.

I must be one of the Lucky One's.
Mrs. Shooter's favorite pistols are Her 629 Classic 6" 44 Mag and Her 45 acp Sig P220 and 45acp 1911.
I told her that I was nearing completion on the 50BMG stock Overhaul/Mods yesterday and her reply was, "Cool, I haven't shot that in a while".
Pulled off a 48 with the 1911 during her FIRST Dot Torture, I was floored!...That's My Girl.

My Son and daughter both shoot rifles and handguns but I could never get the wife to shoot anything! :( Couple years ago and son went shooting clay pigeons with some friends and I about blew a head gasket when he told me One of the girls shot a 3 1/2 inch TURKEY load. Why and the HE!! did you do that. Tiny girl and she handle it pretty good!!!!
