Es

SD and ES can be totally different on target .
You can have a SD of 10 and have ES of 50 . The 50 is the killer . That can be a 10" of vertical and just one bullet changes your group size . Larry

Matt, To get conditions like they test in and Reade Range are not used in the same sentence. Somebody complained about the shooting late at Reade and now they have hours limiting the use of it. Strip jobs are almost non existent after the last administration. Quarry's are back filled or being used locked up when not. Yep testing long would be at a match is about it...... Jim

Jim, I am in the same boat. I am heading to White Horse tomorrow to shoot two 600 yard marches. That gives me 8 targets to test 3 different bullets against each other in four head to head matches. I already worked each one up at 300 yards so this will be the decider about which to load for the following weekend at 1000 at either White Horse or Reade

I was going there myself but no rear bag and no bullets........ Jim

I hope someone does .
I got totally confused whe the topic was about ES . The I found out SD was seating depth .
Hell to get old but I think is better then the other choice lol Larry

I haven't had much time with tuners yet, but one thing I did learn. I feel it's absolutely clear, we need to do full development with it in a drawer. This wasn't intended at all to be a tuner thread, but since we're there let's just see what does what.

Below is a powder ladder (fine), tuner in the drawer.

Below is rough in of seating, tuner in drawer.

Below is the finished load in a match, tuner in drawer lol.

Luckily I didn't get a DQ for double digit ES on that one.

How many "clicks" on the powder measure?:D

SD?
1. sun down
2. standard deviation
3. seating depth
4. shitty depth

Really depends on what "freak" is filling out the target etc.

I can see right now I don't have the technology you guys have to be competitive I am still weighing powder with one of these measures.lol
