the most amazing thing is to get conditions that steady to do that. Around here I have never seen conditions hold for 5 shots let alone all of those ........... Jim

The over-whelming advantage of day break/sun up is when @tom does the bulk of his testing (sun down is more optimal at my range). When do you do your testing, and do you even test at 1000?

Alex, r u putting tuners on ur 6bra's? Shoot with tuner on my .284 but longer barrel.
I put one on. This one is the Ezell with the tungsten powder removed so its just a hunk of aluminum at this point. Toms done testing with and without it on. I think it actually shot smaler without it, but he is re-visiting it. He has some good ideas one what to change about tuners to make them work better for 1kyd guns. All tuner development has been done at 100 yds until now. I am going to make what Tom is after for his next barrel and see how it goes. If they work I told Tom he should put them on the market. But for now, I still recommend going tuner-less until I see some solid improvements, at least for 1k rifles. I think for an f-class rifle I would use one. Surprised I dont see more. If I drive to a national event with 400 loaded rounds I sure would want to be able to tweak things for the local conditions.

Using ezell on.284, again tho longer the barrel the bigger the need, we do tune at 100yds and then take out to1000 for super fine tuning. Thanks for info!

I dont know that is the case. When I did my original tuner testing I was running 30" barrels. and I dont think you need all the weight either. The RAS tuners work as good as any and the tuner weight is considerably less. Most guys dont have a 1/2 pound to spare, nor do you want it on that end of the gun if you do.

I am running 32" and have definitely considered going back to 30 without tuner on next.

I have never saw much advantage of a 32 over a 30 inch. One thing I did notice that over the years in 1000 yard BR. Heavy gun, that guy's started out using 32 to 36 inch barrels so they could rechamber. I can't remember any of the longer barrels ever winning an aggregate. Seemed most also shot way better after being rechambered and shorter. Matt

Does your 100 yard results get you close at 1000 yards for proper setting?
Fr years I have tested tuners Not only RAS but many others . Yes All tuner work . But most don't give give you adjustments that you can repeat in the field . With them your in the same place as loading before hand .
What you have is what you got unless can re tune . I can comfortably Change at the shoot . Tuners Change both vertical and horizontal Displacement And you must know how far and what direction to move .
Numbers or lines Most of the time mean nothing. Very small movement make big changes .
The question ask does turning at 100 work ?
Yes . Does ES change the displacement of a bullet yes but to most it isn't seen at 100 .
I tune off the bullet displacement from the point of aim .
You need to go to a rim fire event you will see every winning gun with a tuner .
That sport depend on fix ammo . And the best ammunition has the lowest Es . The flyers come from a change in bullet speed . Larry

It's obvious that you still can't comprehend. Maybe go out and put 40 thousand bullets on paper at 1000 and tell me what you learned then. By the way, Alex has you on ignore, so maybe try stalking him on Facebook.

For those that can read. I could demonstrate similar results over and over and over again. The point is, the paper don't lie.

Tom
Put 20000 thousand on paper testing tuners most with two croney . So I have most on file .
As far as Alex I Care what he does I know what he did in the past. He will never fix that . I have a few on ignore also lol Larry
