ER Shaw barrel ordering question

I ordered a barrel for my hunting rifle project from Shaw January 15.

They told me it would be at least 4 months before they put tool to steel.

They took my credit card information and said they would call me when they were going to charge me when production got close.

Lo and behold when my statement came in I see they charged me full price the day I placed the order.

I sent a couple e-mails and never heard back to ask why. (hard to get them on the phone)

Is that the standard operating procedure with barrel folks?

Not like it will break me I just like people to say what they are gonna do and do what they say.

IDK, Maybe they said four weeks? Hart never charges me until it ships, They will even give ya a heads up when it will get billed..

I've ordered barrels from them in the past and they charged me when they took the order. I worked with a guy name Chris (as I recall) and he said it was their policy, too many changing their minds or did not have the funds anymore. They were sending a lot of stuff to the bargain bin. This was about three or four years ago.

No way would I wait 4 months for a E.R. Shaw barrel. Currently, Hart is delivering in 7 weeks or a bit less.

Pac-nor charged me less than half for a down payment.3 monthes later they said it was done and was then going to bill for the balance.Thats how it should be in my opion. And I have not heard much good about ER shaw barrels.

Hart is one of the best out there IMHO. Great to deal with and they stand behind their product.

Well it should be.

I bought a Shaw barrel and the chamber looked like the inside of a trash can.! Luckily I bought it from the gunshack and they refunded my money and told me they were getting away from Shaw barrels because Shaw was putting out junk. Do a quick Google search and read the problems. Buy once CRY once
