If I was gonna spend that kind of money I’d probably go Aimloint unless you have a stigmatism, Eotechs are nice for that, gets rid of fuzzy dot. Which Model I don’t know though, I’m not up on it enough but I imagine you tube has endless reviews and comparisons some of which are useful. What eotech would you guys recommend I have a New AR 223 close to medium range .

Can't disagree but for me astigmatism has become a thing so back to EoTech and/or one of the prisms. Not a huge fan of the prisms but they work and no squiggly dot thing. I always feel like I'm looking through a scope backwards when using one. I even looked through both ends to make sure when I got one. Love it or hate it kinda thing for me.If I was gonna spend that kind of money I’d probably go Aimloint unless you have a stigmatism, Eotechs are nice for that, gets rid of fuzzy dot. I think the primary concerns when considering which model Eotech to get are, is night vision capability required, will a magnifier be used with it (brightness switches on side of unit vs. on rear) and which battery do you prefer (AA, which will have longer battery life, vs/ CR-2032 which takes up less rail space and might be the same battery as your WML [Weapon Mounted Light]). Then, which reticle do you prefer. If you can answer all those questions then you'll know which one to choose. Some models can be found at pretty reasonable prices brand new while other cost a bit more. Shop around. I'm pretty sure Eotech will give an active duty military or law enforcement discount if you buy directly from them. What eotech would you guys recommend I have a New AR 223 close to medium range .

If it were me, for my needs it would be the 512 simply because it's the least costly and I don't need night vision, wouldn't use a magnifier and I would want the one-dot reticle. having said that I have three carbines and they all have LPVO's. Oops no I have fourand one has a red dot that works in conjunction with a stand alone rear A2 sight and an A2 front sight.
Ok so what Aimpoint would you recommend for the 223 ?The best Eotech is an Aimpoint, sorry
One of the micro's. I have a T2 on a Geissele mount somewhere in my shop but astigmatism hates an Aimpoint.Ok so what Aimpoint would you recommend for the 223 ?
I picked up a lpvo vortex 1 x 6 viper today it has a lighted center dot & yardage lines for longer distances think I’m going to like it .I got one of the Viper PST 1-4 (now known as Gen 1) about 7-8 years ago. It is first focal plane. Pretty decent scope. I recently got a 1-10 first focal plane Vortex. While the scope is, in my opinion, pretty darn good with surprisingly good glass, I do not like the first focal plane reticle. It is good when you crank up the magnification but on 1x, while I thought the red segmented circle would be useful as a red dot, it is very, very small and not the easiest to quickly pick up. And the graduated reticle, while easily read at magnification, is useless at low power. I very much prefer the second focal plane 1-4 PST. The Horseshoe reticle and center dot is much more useable as a red dot sight at 1x. But then at 4x the graduated reticle (MOA) is still kinda small and I have to look at it for a second or two to figure out the scale...I hope all this makes sense. Just some general observations. Of course everyone's issued eyeballs are not the same so your perceptions may be different than mine. One thing I've learned is, as with most things in life, rifle optics are about compromises above all else. What are you willing to give up in order to get what you want. Can't have it all. Honestly my favorite 223 carbine optic at this time is the first one I bought, a Leupold 1.5-4 Mark AR Mod 1 TMR reticle (milrad) with a green dot.
I love the idea of the thing, it was the execution that left me cold. I am running T1s. My EOTECH sits in the safe nonfunctional. Before it crapped the bed completely, it ate batteries like Axel Rose at a buffet.Ok so what Aimpoint would you recommend for the 223 ?
I’ve got to zero it yet but I think 1x 6 power will be plentyLove lpvo, heck yeah. My old deer rifle still has a 2-7 variable. I can bet money it is still set at 2x
