Engraving firearm

Unfortunately, those who can hand cut firearms engraving are slipping away just as the handmade stock makers are. Both are becoming fewer and further between. Guess why..........

Thats awesome jay ^^
Wish we had a good forum engraver. Thats one thing it seems we’re lacking
my son actually has a fine arts degree in hand engraving, is a member of FEGA, and does some work. :) but, he has just recently bought a house, has preschool aged children, and a full time plus job in aerospace :( he has researched (but not commited to) ffl so right now he is not doing receivers, and then slides only as he can fit the work in his schedule.

it is all by freehand, scrollwork and lettering...

as stated above, my son is a hand engraver - and also a printmaker (another somewhat related and archaic art). he studied albrecht durer the german artist working in the 16th century. one of his motivations is specifically to keep the art alive
