Without a 90deg mirror to actually see into the grooves just save your money. Theres no cheap way out if you just gotta have a borescope
I agree with Dusty that the 90 degree mirror is necessary to really be able to inspect the inside of the barrel.Without a 90deg mirror to actually see into the grooves just save your money. Theres no cheap way out if you just gotta have a borescope
You will NOT see anything useful . I have 4-5 of them here . I use them for engine work now .I have a Lyman borescope, which, while not perfect, works well enough for me.
For someone who is just trying to see what's left in the bore (gross opper and carbon fouling), this thing (for 1/10 the price) should do quite well.
If you're trying to document condition of the metal down the barrel, well, I'd say that this thing focuses too far out and looks forwards rather than sideways, so it's not going to work too well for that.
Neat little tool; for the money I may get one to throw into the range kit.
Double-checked, and for the 3.9mm EndoSnake model it's 3cm.Watching the videos there seems to be conflicting information about focal distance. Is it 3cm or 6cm?
