Just cleaning out my wallet and looked at my carry permit for my state. Sure enough it creeped up on me and only had a short time to go went down and the gal said good thing you didn't let this run out. If you did you would be required to start all over again with all the paper work . Glad I looked into it as I was cleaning out my wallet. Members might want to look at their also and save yourself a lot of headaches if they let it run out! Also check your smoke detectors by the end f the year. Merry Christmas t ne and all.

I just happened to look at mine a couple months back, and caught it in the nick of time. Our sheriff now has an easy-peasy on line application that made things a breeze, even here in Oregon. I still had to go to the office to get a fresh pic taken, but I wasn't there for three minutes all said and done. jd

Utah doesn't require a concealed permit anymore, but surrounding states do and they honor the Utah permit. So it is best to keep it current.

Amazingly, this state sends a reminder card. You renew online and they mail you the new card. A few weeks ago, I renewed on a Friday evening and had the new card the following Tuesday. Good for another 5 years now.

Here in Nevada you have to go get qualified and a refresher course before it expires (good for five years). They do not send out any reminders and you have to go get fingerprinted/photo at the sheriff's office. While you are waiting they run a check on you for warrants to make it easier for them if you are wanted as you are already in the waiting area.

Indiana Lifetime Shall Carry since 2013...does not specify concealed!
Regardless, a few years ago the free state of Indiana became a constructional carry state.

Here in New Yuck, pistol permit renewal is every 3 years. The NY State Police used to send out a reminder notification, similar to what motor vehicle here still does.

A number of years ago, the NY State Police posted on their website that pistol permit renewal reminders will no longer be sent. The wording was to the affect that having a NY state pistol permit is a big responsibility, and watching your own permit expiration is part of that responsibility.
