Care to comment on the 33 & 37 XC. With dies and Brass readily available from Tubbs. Chamber reamers available to match.

Cheytac dies are usually easy to Find also

I recently did two .408CT barrels for a local customer for ELR. 2"dia.x 36-1/2 for the big Bat action. Rifle weighs about 45Lbs. Waiting to see how they do. Difficult job on my Grizzly lathe as barrel would not go thru the headstock.

Wat would b a good build for someone wanting to get into ELR shooting and let’s c those ELR builds

The 338 Lapua or Improved version is a great start. It definitely will get you out 2000+. Much beyond that I think I'd step up to the .375. What people that are getting started in the ELR game need to know is that the 338 LM isn't just a rifle that works only at ELR ranges. It's a decent LR rifle as well. IMO it's a gap rifle. Fits between the Mid range and ELR range as well. I'm using mine this November on my whitetail hunt where my range will be less than 500 yards. I'm using the 230 ELDX. With a brake, it's an easy gun to shoot if you don't mind toting a 15lb+ rifle around. With 300s I'm getting 3000+ fps. I've downloaded the 230s to 3100 fps. They shoot very well without being the best ELR bullet option. At 500 yards they do a great job on a whitetail.

you need to define YOUR version of "elr" ?
338 edge is 2200 plus
300 win mag will do 1800 or more
a giant cartridge is not required for 2000

Tubb doesn’t sell the 37xc reamer Through his sight like he does the 6xc. Although he does rent one out. If you want to buy one I know Manson has the tubb spec reamer print. I have a copy of the latest revision to the tubb 37xc reamer print if ur interested in it that I got from Manson.
