Eliseo Chassis Review

I finally got out to shoot my 284 in an eliseo chassis today. Too much wind to work on load development, but sighted it in at 100.

Very nice on the joypod bipod
Feels good
Havent weighed it but its a bit heavier than I thought itd be.
4 oz trigger is sweet.
Thumb rest is very nice.

Only real cons I got is you feel every bit of mustered recoil. Theres no recoil dampening at all. Still not bad enough to go crazy over though with the 284.

The hand grip that comes with it is junk. Cheap. Which I knew already. Ill be replacing with an ergo tactical elite.

All in all, Ill be buying another for my next build. Saves money too. No inletting, no bedding cost. I enjoyed putting it together myself...

NO I DID NOT BED THIS RIFLE, AND AFTER SHOOTING IT HAVE NO PLANS TO EITHER, ITS GOOD TO GO NOT BEDDED. I know there was someone wondering about this.

Been using these for 4 years. Have been very, very happy with their performance. Won a lot of loot with them.

Gary converted my R1 Long Range tube gun rifle to an F-Open rig with his “Pickle Fork” front bag riders. Maybe you need to add some more weight to your stock to mitigate some recoil. Plus adding a Decelerator D550 recoil pad can help as well. Btw, Gary can fit a RAD system to his rudders now. I love my 2 Eliseo rifle stocks. I shot it this last weekend in our CA State Palma Championship and was 1st High Master on the 2nd day (don’t ask about the 1st day).

A RAD on it would be, radical!

My experience is that metal chassis vibrate and transmit noise much more than traditional stocks, which makes the perceived recoil feel more harsh.

Hmm. I had a suppressor on, cut the noise a lot. I didnt notice vibration. I was shooting off a bench though, not prone. I tend to feel more shooting prone.
