6th Chassis for my Rem 700

I have gone through 5 other Chassis one B&C, 3 XLR and a Eliseo. I am now trying a Jard. All the others work but not what I wanted. The XLR were close. the B&C and Eliseo just a little heavy. The XLR Evolution and Carbon scopes sat very high sane for the Eliseo, the Element only problem was a short forearm. I love the XLR Extreme BMG buttstock with a tactical cheek rest. This set up hit my scale at 15.25 LBS. I will be taking it the range to zero and shoot some 300 yard targets this weekend.

update went out and zeroed and made adjustments for length of pull and cheek rest height. I then went out to 300 yards and was walking it in when the MPA grip stated to work lose. I was using the supplied bolt but was not long enough to use with the lock washer. I have a longer bolt with lock washer installed and blue loctite added.

I have a McRee's G10 set up for a Kelbly's Tactical and while its well made and functions flawlessly, I am still not convinced.

Just a thought, but maybe you don't actually want a chassis. I got one because I thought I'd like it, and it's okay, but I'd much rather be behind one of my McMillans. Much more comfortable.
this what I wanted but can not get in USA yet http://www.dolphinguncompany.co.uk/images/stock-1.png?crc=198709706. The XLR Element and Carbon are very comfortable but had flaws for me Element too short of a forearm and it hoop some time. The Carbon with the 15 inch forearm track great but had to cut my scope base to fit and us AR high scope rings.

Some folks just plain don't fit in with the chassis systems, through no fault of their own. But give them a measured and fitted McMillan or Manners and they are quite comfortable and capable of shooting nice targets or big game.

I am a chassis lover. I have had at least one of every flavor, two in some instances and three or more of the ones I really like. It isn't that I can't shoot the synthetic stocks or carbon fiber from Manners, I can and still do own quite a few of both, especially the 100% carbon fiber from Tom. But the chassis really let me shine with some designs. I think I'm easy to fit whereas some shooters are harder to fit or don't feel comfortable behind a chassis whether it is adjustable or not. Mox nix.

I called Dolphin Gun Company and they told me that they could sell to the U.S. but that duty and taxes raised the price. You might find an importer to double check the process.

The principle chassis I use currently are the Cadex and APO (Sabre Forrst) Modular system. Unfortunately, these are probably the most expensive chassis available but they work the best for me and are VERY comfortable. The APO are also heavier than most other versions you've tried. The APO is also modular so some of the components are interchangeable saving some cash when going to a different set up or action. Both manufacturers offer the folding stock feature which can come in handy when traveling or having to use shorter cases for transport.

Good Luck with your search!

I have a XLR Element chassis on my Remington 700 Long Range in 30-06. I could not shoot much better than 1 moa until I got that chassis. I could never shoot as good as I was able until I started using a tripod instead of a bipod. Yesterday I shot my best 500 yard group with it. If you use a tripod you can put the contact point even with the objective end of your scope. This works much better for me. 2 10 shot groups @ 500 yards. Each group was less than 2 1/2". 208gr ELD bullets OAL 3.55" with 51.8 grs. of IMR 4350. I use this rifle for 1000 yard shooting, I'm 70 years young and am glad I can still shoot. CPL. U.S.M.C. 66-69 Ret.

Give a KRG chassis a try, they are awesome! I have 2 X-RAY's and will be buying another very soon. Customer service is awesome as well!

I had a McRee but there were a lot of things I didn't like about it and it didn't fit me well. Customer service was great, though.

I will never buy an all metal chassis again.
