Electronic Targets the End of F Class?

I shot fast the first day at Lodi Nationals. With the cross fire I came in dead last at high master class.
Interesting that. I am Chief Range Officer at two Australian State championships & it's amazing how many more F class shooters crossfire on ETs. I put it down to two things:

(1) They don't have a spotter on a target to help then identify it as theirs, which leads to
(2) Fclassers seem to bump their back bags a lot when viewing their results/monitors, leading to a crossfire next target left (for right handers).

the speed shooting thing isn't strictly the issue with no delay, basically no delay gives you ~7 seconds per shot over the course of a shoot to play with, wait or whatever. It definitely has an influence on shooters choices and the pressure they feel under which in turn impacts outcomes..
Don't believe me...take an ET with no delay, one with delay and a manual with slow pit service all next to each other shooting shoulder to shoulder...compare the scores at the end...why else do we hate slow pit service...our wind reading didn't suddenly get worse just because the service was slow....

Well unfortunately the electronics are coming to the UK, although we have had the Kongsberg system in place for a while now, without regular maintenance it sucks! Can't say I'm a fan of electronics, reading other shooters targets and trends is all part of the process.

I'm lucky enough or otherwise to be part of a trial of these three systems in a weeks time. Intarso, Hex and Silver Mountain, I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Silver Mountain.

Intarso... that's a new one to me.

OK, what formerly was known as Haring.

SMT, HEXTA, Sius, Kongsberg are all systems I know about in the US though I've shot on the just that first one myself.

As to 'machinegunning' I agree it's tempting, noted that aspect the first couple of times I shot on an SMT system. When the target doesn't have to move & you can see your POI virtually instantly, it's a change each shooter needs to learn how to cope with in whatever fashion they feel best.

German, which bodes well, as generally the Germans don't make crap.
I can't actually see a long range system on the website, but there are several "products coming soon"

So I go to the pits, set up new centers on the targets, repair targets when a good shooter nails the spotter and try hard not to miss shots with bad eyes and listen to complaints about poor target servicing.

Easy enough to program a delay with E-targets so that argument doesn't wash. Instead of pulling targets folks can be getting ready for the next relay getting more done in the same amount of time.

Myself, I think that overly generous weight allowances and front rests in Open are more detrimental than E-targets. Still on the fence about allowing bullet weights other than 155 for .308 in F/TR.

Hi, I am looking into electronic targets for our club in the UK.

It will be used for ‘F’ Class competitive shooting. I see that from the comments made on this forum that the accuracy of the Silver Mountain system is totally dependent on the skill of the person setting them up. Can someone confirm this and if setup correctly what accuracy can be achieved ?

The Silver Mountain website has no details on expected accuracy. How can shooters get confidence using this system if it cannot guarantee consistency ?
