I also have been using Etymotic, their GunsSport-Pro (GSP-15), and they are great. I am hard of hearing, and when I have the Etymotic's on, I can hear better. And yes, they do suppress the loud sounds sufficiently without additional protection.Etymotic GSP. Been using them for 4 years. If they die, I will buy another pair.

Peltor TEP-100s with NRR of 30db. So far this is the best ear plugs for shooting I've tried. This is more costly but if you want the electronic amp this is a great choice. But if you want to check on other top ones, here's a list. https://doctear.com/best-hearing-protection/for-shooting-ranges-top-rated/I am talking about some that are not the muff type that work good.Tell me what’s out there that works.
