electronic hearing protection

Are any of the electronic hearing protection ear buds safe to use without using the typical electronic ear muffs, sure would like not to wear the muffs if possible.
If so what brand
Bench

Do you guys find that this style of hearing protection is sufficient without wearing muffs over the top of them??

Both is best, but if you are only going to use one...use muffs. Electronic muffs and good ear plugs are more $$ but they also allow you to have a conversation on the range.

I have commented on thus subject at great length. Search my name to find them.
Meanwhile, GSP-15 have an NRR in the 20's but you have to understand the OSHA rules for NRR, it includes error due to faulty use. If GSP=15's are inserted correctly and the best fit ear tip chosen by the user, the attenuation will be about 38 dB. That is nearly as good as yellow foamies.
No need for muffs on top. In fact, throw away your muffS AS THEY ARE NOT ADEQUATE PROTECTION WITH OUT PLUGS UNDER THEM.
