Efficient big game cartridges that do well in short barrels

I could go 308, but that is too close to the 260 Remington and doesn't really shoot the 200gr very well from my understanding. I really want something that can do 180-200gr bullets well. I have 300 win mag, but for sentimental reasons I am not cutting the barrel on that one.

SHHH...don't tell the "F" class guys that!!;)

Ok, I'll give you some advice from my experience. I use a tikka t3 300wm in a 21" barrel. I can run a 165gr sierra at 2850 pretty easy with plenty of room left to spare. I use my SiCO Omega and the ASR quick mount muzzle brake. The rifle suppresses very well but still has a bit of pop, but not enough to hurt your ears. I've taken deer from groups and had the opportunity at seconds because the others don't take off the same. If I was getting a new rifle for hunting at those ranges, I'd op for a 300wsm and be happy. I also load based on calculated pressures more than outright speed. I picked powder for my 300wm based on lower pressure and still good speed so that the round would suppress better. It works, go with it.
