I believe that his bag is one that Dave Dohrman used to sell. It has leather ears, with a special cloth that Dave came up with, to reduce friction, sewed on top of the leather. The idea was that the leather holds its shape better, and the cloth was to give a better slide. What you can't see, because of the thickness of the bench mat, is that the bag is a soft bottom design, and probably sits on one of Dave's spacers, that were constructed to reduce rocking by supporting the bag at its edge, or one of the Skip Otto designed ring or doughnut bags. I have one of those bags, in the taller version, with one of the spacers.
