Easy bolt lift but very hard extraction?

I'm loading for a 223ai. I'm loading pretty hot, to the point where i have to use thicker cup primers or the primers are pierced (CCI are the only ones being pierced). I loaded more with wolf 5.56 primers and alleviated any piercing. The main issue, though, is the extraction. The bolt lifts easy, maybe a tad sticky...but the rounds are stuck in the chamber to the point of having to use a blunt object on the bolt handle to extract them. This has happened even with the edges of the primer still rounded.

This could be caused by a lot of things. A rough or dirty chamber or not enough size on the case are a few. Load too hot? Matt

What type rifle, lifting the bolt is primary extraction and pulling on the bolt is secondary extraction. Primary extraction should break the case free of the chamber while moving slightly to the rear making secondary extraction eazy.

Is this a Savage rifle?

rounds chamber easy after i bumped the shoulders back.

the gun is a trued remington 700....but, i have a new barrel on the way, hoping that solves it

Are you full length sizing every time? Sounds like the base of your brass has grown too much and is getting stuck when you fire. Also check bolt timing.

Rewinder has hit the nail on the head. Many people, when "trueing" an action, will take too much from the lugs, both in the action and on the bolt, resulting in a loss of primary extraction camming.

i'll try to get in the shop and measure some brass and mess with the bolt tonight.

The action was true'd by Scout Supply Company, for this particular rifle

As much flack as I know I'll catch for it....i have a custom "remage" barrel set to arrive this up coming week. 1:12, 24", threaded........so, I'll also see if the issues carry over to it.

But...don't yell too much...this is just a cheap "beater" rifle that's sitting in a chassis (custom pdc) and a sightron 8-32...it's setup for steel/ground hogs/yotes and is only shot suppressed.
