You know that's not a bad idea, I think his school just bought a cnc machine and the shop teacher is a avid hunter as a matter of a fact he has completed his grand slam and he is a very good friend of mine so I will see what can be done there, thanks for the idea ;)

Better then most men do, very talented young man if I do say so myself ;D He has been shooting and hunting with me since he was three, shot his first cougar when he was four and the list goes on and on, if I had to choose someone I could 100% trust to get the job done and watch my back he would be one of three out of all that I know, I guess that is all I have to say about that ;)

Re: eastern wa/ n idaho long range match ( sportsman's challenge )

thats a good way to be you can learn a lot that way(good and bad) this type of match i think could be a good way for youth that are already into shooting and hunting to get more involved or interested and also show some of them how match's or competitions work. i never seen or experienced a match tell last spring. there are lots of thing to listen to at those.

Hey Caleb,

I'll have to see how my dissertation writing is coming along, but I very well might join you in June. Pullman is definitely within striking distance of Athol. I'll also send the info to Gary Marbut from the MSSA and perhaps he would promote it at his long range field matches in Potomac, MT. I'll also spread the word to my gunsmith in Three Forks, MT who shoots several long distance matches in ID, WA, and MT. Send me a copy of your flyer and I'll hang a bunch in the Pullman-Moscow area.

archerross,
Hello neighbor,
I am about 80 miles or so South of you, I am 40 miles south of Lewiston Idaho, I live 13 miles south of Anatone Wa on the banks of the Grande Ronde river to be exact if you know where that is. I like your Palouse country :)

Re: eastern wa/ n idaho long range match ( sportsman's challenge )

i am thinking that the state maximum hunting rifle weight would be a good rule to enforce at this match what do you guys think

Got your phone message but it got to late to call you back, you however can call that cell number anytime I don't get reception at home and if I am at work I work from 5:00 p.m to 5:30 a.m Thursday-Sunday one week and Fri-- Sunday the next week so it is a pretty safe bet you won't wake unless I am on vacation somewhere :) Maybe you should have more then one weight class, that may stop some from being able to compete if all they have is a f-class rifle.
Wayne.

Re: eastern wa/ n idaho long range match ( sportsman's challenge )

they were mot f class rifles. they were rifles that shoot huge cartridges.

Re: eastern wa/ n idaho long range match ( sportsman's challenge )

working on getting the steel for all the targets. found out this weekend that the 3/8" that i have been collecting isnt gonna work for anything at less than 350-375 yards. now i have to be on the lookout for more 1/2" then i thought. also working on getting the land permit finalized.

Re: eastern wa/ n idaho long range match ( sportsman's challenge )

What's the ID state hunting weight limit again? Some of us have 18lb plus rifles. But I didn't consider bringing it since there would be little advantage in a field course. I was thinking maybe the 308 WIN or the 25/06 AI, maybe the 22/250 AI if I can get the bugger to shoot. Then again I could bring the 6mm Rem, or the 300 Win mag. Hmmm.

the idaho weight is 16 lbs max and that includes being loaded
all of those you have listed sound good to me. i will be shooting either .22-250ai, 243 ai or 6-284 most likely
