East Texas Championship Match practice day

East Texas Championship practice day
Friday May 20 is practice day for the East Texas Championship Match.
I have decided to do two things different this year.
First, Friday will also be a swap meet during the practice time. Bring whatever you want to sell or trade, let's stick to gun related stuff.

Second, Friday night after the practice is over and the rifles are put up, I am providing supper at the range. We will serve Gumbo with rice and crackers. The caterer who is cooking the ribeyes for Saturday makes a mean gumbo too. My idea is to have a BS session with supper instead of everyone going and sitting in a motel room and watching Dancing With The Stars. Adult beverages will be allowed after the practice is over and all guns secured. I hear the short range shooters talking about the good old days when this was a common event at the matches. Gives us a few more hours to visit with folks we only see three times a year.

Third, Friday is my daughters 20th birthday. Presents of jewelry, furs, automobiles, money will be allowed.

Don't miss out on the fun.

Looking forward to the match. I have also seen posts that indicate a bunch of stuff will be available for trade or sale. Should be a good time at a great range and match. If you are considering this match, you need to get in touch with Mike and let him know your intentions. If you are not considering it, you are missing a good time and a tough match.

Mikey---picked up the caps yesterday----sharp! Hope we have a good turn-out. I"m bringing a bunch of stuff for sale or trade and it will be priced right; need some space in the loading room! I may even sneak off early and see ya"ll on Thurs. Scott

Come on down thurs. if you can. Mark DeLuia is bringing some good stuff too. I have a 3 pounds of VV133 that needs a new home, bullets, front rest, etc.
I think Friday will be a fun day and serving supper out there should give everyone time to visit and maybe make a few deals. Get ready for the wind on Sat. Been blowing hard but pretty much from 10 to 12 oclock at the range

Shucks, I may even have to bring along my 6.5x284 Hall rifle and see it it needs a new home. Be kind of like getting rid of one of the kids though.

Still have openings for the match. With the additional 3 benches built last month we can handle 45 shooters in 3 relays
