Dumb question........muzzle brakes????

Phil

Gold $$ Contributor
Does the length of a muzzle brake add to the over all length of a barrel??????

Meaning is a 28' tube with a 2' muzzle break considered a 30' tube?????????

I know barrel length is a factor in velocity, this is where my question stems from.......if i need a 28' tube will i have to order it at 26' so i can add the 2' break???????

Silly huh???

Thanks,

Phil.

yes it will add to your over all length unless you ask your smith to knock off that two inch's. a 26' barrel with a 2' break is still a 26' barrel. as for your velocity question if you order a 26' cause you want a 28' over all length your will only get the velocity of the 26'. hope this helps

Jake,

Thats what i thought, but i had to ask just to be sure.......the brake only makes a diffrence in overall length.
