DSB FTR Tuner Experiences

Hello everyone

Currently planning my first FTR build and I'm tossing up the idea of putting a tuner on, looking at the DSB FTR tuner as its lighter weight will make life abit easier to make weight. I have a 30" Heavy Palma barrel (0.900" muzzle) ready to go.

Just wondering how many FTR shooters have used the DSB tuner and what has been their experiences with it.

Have found numerous videos on the F Open tuner and it looks to be a great product but as I'm very new to this I'm checking to see if the FTR version works well too.

Thanks

Get some this and will help a lot with being able to turn it.

In the past I've used the EC tuners... just got a new gun with two barrels setup for the DSB tuner. Haven't gotten it out to the range yet to start barrel break-in, much less load development, much less playing with the tuner. Fingers crossed.

I will say that on the two barrels I have set up for them they are super tight... like I may have to find a pair of soft-jaw pliers to be able to turn them. Might have to try that silicone grease mentioned above.

I have a smith do my work, I'm down in Australia. Should of probably had that in my initial post.

My only advice... Dans "nominal" size for the o-ring is a little large in my opinion. If I use .900 like he suggests you almost need vice grips to turn it. Just something to be aware of.

Sometimes 905... sometimes 880... It really depends on the o-ring. My advice is just "make sure it's reasonably tight"

Mine was super tight as well and I reached out to Dan to see if another o-ring size was the fix and he turned me on to the Danco silicone grease designed to work with stainless steel faucets and rubber o-rings. Problem solved. Works like a champ.
