Drop port Bat wont drop...

Have a new Bat B drop port in 6 bra but will not drop case after firing.
Only have 40 round so before I call bat or do anything thought I
would run it up the flag pole here. Hoping it would start to work
after firing....if you really operate with vigor it will drop but you
obviously don't want to do that. Thoughts?

BAT should be your first call or contact when a product purchased from or by them doesn't perform up to the standards they claim, not a public forum. BAT is the expert even when an answer may surface on a forum.

Call or contact BAT.

:)
I didn’t take where he was bashing Bat, but was only asking if there was possibly other folks that had experienced this issue….and speculating for an easy fix. As mentioned though, it is wise to go directly to the manufacturer and share if wanted. Just saying.

It may have the wrong extracter in it. The one for a dropport has a little more clearance than a regular one. They will send you the proper one if you contact them

I had the same problem with my drop port Bat Neuvo. It uses a Sako style extractor..

The culprit was the edges on the extractor lip were too sharp, and the lip of the extractor was just a little too close to the bolt face.
I put the extractor in our tool grinder and took about .0015 off the inside of the extractor lip and polished the edges. Problem solved.

My B drop port extracts 100% but ejected about 50%. After I did what @Peterson1 is telling you, it now ejects 99% with a Dasher barrel on it. When the brass doesn't drop it is always cocked off a very minute amount to the left and I really think the drop port needs opened up very slightly.
For all who think I am bashing BAT, I did contact them as soon as the rifle was finished and I had the issue. They sent me a couple of new extractors and said file, sand and polish the extractor.
I also have a BAT Neuvo LR Drop port and it has been 100% extract & eject.
EDIT: I also think the hangups now may be from my file work and it drops the brass on the right side sooner than the left.

The 'Ol Bridgeport in the garage is your friend

I love Bat actions. I use a CT and a 3L. You would think that before the action left the shop, it would be cycled, with brass, to be sure of proper function. I would be a little frosty if I had put out the dollars, only to be told to take a file to the new product to make it right.

Regards
Rick

I own EIGHT BAT actions and, sorry, I am NOT "frosty". For ten years I have never had anything but great CS from them.
Steve, may he RIP, was a great guy and he is missed as a friend.

Minor little things like this are common across all makes. I have worked a bunch of sakos to get them to drop. Just take a little off the hook and it will be fine. Its holding the rim against the opposite side of the bolt face. Just one of many things we see when building a rifle, no biggie.

Sorry for your loss......I DO stand by the simple fact that they could be tweaked at the manufacturer to properly run before going out the the consumer.

Best Regards
Rick
