Anyone bought a new one from them recently? Just wondering if the quality is the same as it use to be.

I got my first douglas barrel this June. Absolutely lovely work. 30-06 sporter build on a tikka. I sent in my 270 tikka action and they did the chambering and install. 0 .4 moa is the best I have done with it so far, and I strongly believe it is my shooting that is holding the barrel back from doing better.

It also was super fast. Like 3 weeks or less if I remember?

I should also mention that they were able to remove the factory barrel (and return it to me) without using a relief cut. Which is no small feat. I was expecting a relief cut and was very happy to see it comeback without one.

The only thing they were not able to accommodate was my bizzare request for a lord of the rings reference on the barrel stamp. But they all did get a chuckle out of the note I sent them.

Something like One Barrel To Rule Them All?
Haha that would be good, but I was going with

Glamdring - The Doe Hammer

For the nerds... Glamdring - The Foe Hammer was Turgon's sword. He was the king of Gondolin. Gondolin was only passingly referenced in the movies. But more of its history is mentioned in the main books. The fall of Gondolin is covered in the Silmarillion.

Later though, Bilbo and Gandalf find the sword in the troll hoard. Gandalf goes on to use it in his fight vs the Balrog and through out the rest of that war.

When was the last time the website was updated? Cause if I can get work done on one of their barrels for even remotely that much I’d get a whole stable of them.

Edit: just requested a quote. Don’t mind me. Not trying to hi jack thread.

If I sent them my action to chamber and install a barrel then I will need to send the action and barrel to someone for nitriding or cericoating.
Any suggestions would be useful.
