Doug Paschall's 6mmBR-DX

I was looking through the guns of the week and this one caught my eye, the 6mmBR-DX.

What I'd like to know is what velocity can the 6mmBR-DX drive the 107 range projectiles? Can it compare to the BRX or Dasher, or does it just fall short?

Cheers

Time will tell for me as that is exactly what I am building.

I am hoping for around 3050-3100 with a 105 FB as they are shooting the Berger 95s at 3200.

Just got a 29" HV Krieger 9 twist,.237) this week.

NIB Weaver 36X fine cross hair with dot in the safe.

100 new Lapua cases on hand, plenty of CCI BR primers but need a jug of RL-15, already have the Varget.

Bruce Baer has a new Lawton 1.450" Single Shot RB DP stainless steel action,$695) that he is bedding into one of his laminated Edge/Modfied,1/2" flat) MBR stocks,$270 inletted).

1000 of Randy Robinetts new 105 gr FB bullets were shipped yesterday.

Yesterday Dave Kiff sent a BR-DX chamber,$138 ea)and resize reamer and go/no go guages,$27 ea). Hmmm, got to order die blanks now. Maybe Harrels seater modified?

all parts are in hand or on the way. Hopefully by the EO May she will be punching little bitty holes.

Bountyhunter..... Can you keep me informed with this project of yours??

I would really like to know how you go with the BR-DX, and the velocity it shoots with the heavy projectiles.

We know it will be accurate, as anything made from that case is!!

.269 neck, old habits die hard, got to just touch them up) and not sure on the throat. Dave Kiff had some of the BIB bullets and told him to make it for them. I will get the reamer print with the reamers next week.

Just put a new Broughton 1-12 for the BIB 187s on my HG in the 300 WSM. Got to get it broke in and tuned asap also. How is your WSM and Bibs doing?

BH:

The 12 twist Broughton is doing just fine. I shot the Georgia Long Range Championships,Stars and Bars)at Ft. Benning in F-Class this past weekend. The 187 shoots better than anything, but I shot the 200 grain Knight BT because I knew the wind would be kicking, and it did. We shot the 600 yd target at 1000. The Broughton and the 300 WSM came through and I was lucky enough to bring home a win. Never cleaned the gun all weekend -- 140 rounds.

The new Low Rider stock from Richard Franklin made that WSM feel like a 6.5x284. I had some scope ring problems all weekend but I was able to overcome. I was really sending those BTs and prayed for more wind. But I have never seen such haze in my life when the sun got high on that flat range.

BH, you ain't going to believe this, but I have gotten into the prone, sling, match rifle thing and I have been bitten hard. I will shoot my second prone match this weekend. Heck, I will probably be about 50 pounds lighter by the first of the year, and that will be fine. These old bones have been stretched for sure.

Keep me up to date on your 6BR-DX as I have have been thinking about that longer neck for some time.
