Don't Forget to Thank NRA

I know for some the NRA is a lightening rod subject due to something or time you felt they didn't "man-up" but, if you're happy about the election outcome, we need to say thank you to them for stepping up larger than ever in support of the rights we enjoy. The NRA fought the slings and arrows of the Democrats negative spin on them and stayed true to backing President-Elect Trump steadfastly while other groups swayed by the day.
We may think the fight is over, at least for a while. Truth is it is only just beginning. I ask you to think about even a small donation to NRA to help recoup the funds they spent this election and keep the organization strong.
PLEASE, don't turn this thread into a circus tent filled with denegrating posts about what I am saying or the NRA. Just asking that you send a few bucks their way for the future. I did during the campaigns and I have since the campaigns. Why? I feel like I'm getting a good deal for it and I hope you do too.

I do NOT work for NRA or GOP or anyone for that matter. I just believe we should pony-up for a great cause.

Like it or not, money and influence are the drivers in todays political system. My experience in calling my representatives has been that I believe their position on any issue is already determined and all you receive is their justification for it. You are certainly entitled to your thoughts are on the NRA, but I encourage all shooters and Second Amendment supporters to donate to them. They are one of our few effective options.

If you live in a very anti or pro district, this will be the case. If you live in a district where the Congresscritter could flip-flop either way, it's always good to let them know you're watching. They can then tell their anti colleagues, "You know, I'd like to help you on that but my district....."

Shoot4fun I agree 100%. Been an NRA member since I was 12, that's 45 years now. On average I send them about $30 a month and its money well spent.

I tried to ignore you but just can't. The fact that you won't support the NRA because of one Director is like refusing to pay your federal taxes because you don't like the person who was elected mayor of a small town in the middle of no-where. Ted is just one of the many on the BOD and like him or not he WAS elected by the membership and not just appointed. Tell us you have been completely happy with the current POTUS so we can believe in fairy tales too.

But I refuse to support an organization that endorses anyone like Nugent.

It's best not to beg for money here. Like politics, like this election, it exposes things about one better kept private. Like support of the NRA, people like Nugent, and other extreme positions. The fringe is for the folk of the fringe.

The fact that Nugent was elected is exactly why I refuse to support the NRA. He speaks directly for you, with your consent. That's not a thing to be proud of. At least not publicly.

It amazes me the things this election exposed about everyone.

Here's my suggestion: mind your manners. Be polite.

Don't tell me who to support, or it opens a discussion about who we should support and why. Then you tell me your opinion, and I tell you why I don't agree.

Best if we both just keep all that private, and talk about what we have in common. That's not the NRA, that's shooting. They're separate. I'll decide who to give my money to, you decide who to give your money to.

And let's just let it be that way.

I saw some very good ads from the NRA supporting Mr Trump here in North Carolina, so don't tell me they had nothing to do with the election.

Feeling the way you do about the NRA and Ted Nugent, I can't understand why you would want to use their credentials?
You won't help support them but are ok with them helping support you.

You claim to be an NRA instructor but dont support them? And the only reason you don't support them is one of the board of directors gets your panties in a wad? Maybe you should sell your guns and take up golf.

That says you don't deserve to have the NRA Instructor creds and you certainly have no business making business off legitimate and worth-while NRA programs. It kinda, in my mind, puts you in the same class as those who have made careers sponging off the welfare system. You're getting something for nothing.
It appears evident you have a personal beef with Ted Nugent that goes much deeper than his personna.
You won't get much agreement with your position here and if your students knew the truth they would end your gravy train.
