Does This Qualify As A Varmint Rig

Its not a varmint rig...its a varmint Cannon!
I can see a low hit at 700 yards on a p-dog and the entire top of the mound as well as the rat getting blown into the sky no matter.

Now that is fun to picture in my mind's eye! ;D

If you say it is a varmint gun then ............ it is! Everyone has different views of what is 'adequate" I guess. I'm having a 6MMBR built to shoot sage rats. But of course, my .17HMR will do the job too so is my 6BR over kill? Variety makes for better varmint hunting I say. So this really comes down to an issue of cost. A 6MMBR uses about 30 grains of powder. Your RUM uses how much?:) Have fun with it ............ just don't try to borrow powder from me.

Probably the only down side I can see of using this rig on PD's is that you will need a spotter, with a really good spotting scope. the round will have a pretty significant impact signature even with a good hit. if you center mass a PD with a 110Vmax@4400, the biggest flying parts are the head and paws. <evil grin> sometimes you find bits and pieces of... stuff... hanging off of the sagebrush. <bigger evil grin> just *vapor* in between.

I went the other direction on varmint guns, (221FB,6TCU) but I have friends who have run big 30's and the 110vmax. its impressive. Its a ton of fun being the spotter with a gun like that. you get watch all the action, and have none of the expense. :-)

Beautiful rig sure why not I'm not to sure if you can see the hits with that much vertical jump you will have to dial down your magnification on glass to help some. That cal will rip some meat I say gopro your hits lol

I'm using a 338 Yogi in an MBR stock for a groundhog rig, helps with the long shots.

I have to compliment all the posters on this thread for making coffee blast from my nose :o. Seriously, I take it the other way and the rifle that goes to the field is mission specific. That being said, I normally hunt alone just because I like to, so I would be missing out on all those cool spotter shots. I will tell you that 105 A-max bullets out of my 243 AI is meat that looks like it went through a food processor!
great thread guys, keep up the carnage!
