Does Brass Really Make A Difference

I think it’s better than the remchester domestic stuff. The primer pockets are the main difference in my experience. They don’t loosen up as fast and seem overall to keep better tolerances even when brand new.

But if you’re not seeing a difference in your shooting, then no, it’s not necessary.

I’m itching to try some of the high end domestics - Alpha and Peterson. I havent heard a bad report on those yet.

I just bought 100 cases of SIG 223R braass at Cabelas for $30. Went to ream the flash holes like always with first time loading and all were perfect. Primer pockets very tight after 8 loadings so far. Seem to give as good of groups as anything else I've tried. I'm impressed with this brass that is very inexpensive.

One item that probably separates Win from the others is the additional case capacity, especially in custom barrels with tight match chambers which will allow for more powder and higher velocities. I personally do not load anywhere near maximum pressure so it doesn't help me personally.

I only buy Lapua because I like the boxes.;):):p

In fact, I like those boxes so much that I just paid a lot of postage just to have a member ship me some. Stupid I know but we all have our idiosyncrasies. Besides, the bottom of Lapua brass shines up real pretty.o_O:eek::D

Gee if I'd known you really want them, I would have bought them anyway.:mad::mad::D:D:D. The devil made me do it.
I gave him all my boxes, because I like my lapua brass so much I keep it separated by lot in mtm deluxe 100rd boxes WITH the foam insert. I don’t even use those boxes as range gear. I’m an ammo wallet guy now. They are strictly to keep my cases from getting boogered!

Small piece of foam pad, keeps ammo snug, safe and ready for action. I also use the boxes to keep to keep my brass sorted.

Thanks again Tim for the boxes. I'll let you know when they arrive.

I got into Peterson when they first came out. The brass I got from them had primer pockets so tight it was impossible to prime several cases no matter how hard I tried. I sent them back and they replaced them saying something had gotten out of whack on the line. The second bunch was still tight but doable. Aside from that, it has been very good brass. I wish they made some in 280AI.
