They would probably look to drop the gun charge and the "no insurance while committing a felony charge" (if there was a charge) just to give the felon a soft plea. But for the regular person that had to defend themselves, they would stick with the No Insurance charge by itself and not give an inch. Maybe they'll even try to upgrade it to a felony.End result for violent felons: no change.
End result for the unwashed (you, me and every other upstanding person): yet another "hook" by which to hang people when they don't comply with edicts from the rulers who disregard constitutional law.
And I like the exception they throw in... there is an exception if the gun is unloaded. I can just see the new drills on youtube... the draw, load magazine, then fire drill. They can call it the Maryland Drill.
