They would probably look to drop the gun charge and the "no insurance while committing a felony charge" (if there was a charge) just to give the felon a soft plea. But for the regular person that had to defend themselves, they would stick with the No Insurance charge by itself and not give an inch. Maybe they'll even try to upgrade it to a felony.

And I like the exception they throw in... there is an exception if the gun is unloaded. I can just see the new drills on youtube... the draw, load magazine, then fire drill. They can call it the Maryland Drill.

All the states like Maryland know how to do is Destroy. Every violent death by a felon is an acceptable loss. But when a Psycho felon dies while they're prevented from terrorizing their fellow American, by a former Marine, well, that is Murder. In every state it is legal to wear body armor unless you are wearing it in the commission of a crime or you are a convicted felon. The only thing I can add to this is that if someone lives in a blue state and they think they are safe, they'd better think a little harder. Those responsible for elimination of the second and eventually the first amendments will be targeting your state next. You are already being called extremist If you believe in god or vote for anyone but a democrat.

Where is the NRA? Why are existing cases filed by organizations like the second amendment foundation, which challenge these transgressions, not making to the SCOTUS?

This bill would be unconstitutional if ratified into law if it had the legal compulsion for already known ( previous conviction ) felons to purchase the insurance because this would violate the felon's 5th amendment protection against self incrimination because they are not supposed to have a gun in the first place. It would be nice to have an extra penalty to pinch the felon on, but it won't happen.
