Buddy of mine just completed testing the Classic Hunter in 6.5 for his Cred. His best group was from magazine length, don't know much jump it was. But there was plenty.

My .308 loves the 185gr CHs at about .030” off the lands. 5 shots at 100 yards.

The 185 CH’s have a better BC than the Juggernauts. Is there a trade off? Would the CH make a better choice for mid range competition?

I put them 35 thou off using RL16, Fed210m, and Lapua brass. Worst group at 105 yards was 9/10 of an inch. I will shoot the same waters of powder but change seating depths now.

Velocity is 2920fps with 57 grains
Barrel is a Krieger 1-11 twist cut to 24”

I don't know if "like" is the right word, but they handle larger jumps much better than VLDs. They were designed and tested around the idea of standard SAAMI spec length ammo, which in a lot of factory guns these days can be a loooong way from the rifling.

The .30 CAL 185gr CLASSIC HUNTER bullet has a G1BC of 0.533 and G7BC of 0.273.
The .30 CAL 185gr JUGGERNAUT has a G1BC of 0.555 . And a G7BC of 0.284.
The JUGGERNAUT would be a better choice just based on BC.

Well heck, you’re correct. I think I was looking at the 185 VLD hunting by mistake, which has a G1 of 558
