Below is a copy from our Blog about the newest Classic Hunter bullets from Berger! Our website has some introductory load data for these new bullets as well.

Our Berger Classic Hunter Series Bullets are designed for the most discriminating shooters and outdoorsman who insist their loaded rounds function flawlessly through any rifle magazine. Classic Hunters are tailored specifically for factory rifle applications where SAAMI length loaded rounds are a must. If your pre-hunt regiment is to assemble today's best reloading components to the maximum overall length (OAL) in your loading manual, Berger Classic Hunters are the new best-in-class. Load up the confidence you deserve while out in the elements, experiencing the hunt of a lifetime.

Berger Classic Hunters are offered in select weights that provide exceptional downrange performance in today's factory rifles. No custom barrels, special twist rates or reloading tricks are needed to achieve cutting-edge results. Classic Hunter ballistic coefficients (BC's) exceed other market clones due to the unique ogive properties provided by our innovative hybrid-shaped bullet nose. The hybrid design combines the best of both tangent and secant ogive features, resulting in the best ballistic performance with less sensitivity to bullet seating depth. Easy to load and shoot with Berger match-grade quality materials and award-winning results.

Berger Bullets ballistician Bryan Litz states "The Classic Hunter provides a unique solution that shares the hybrid design and ballistic properties of a match-quality target bullet, yet allows hunters magazine feed reliability. Now reloaders from entry-level through expert class have an obvious choice for their next hunt."

The Berger Bullets industry-leading development team has, yet again, brought forth an innovative product which compiles attributes never before seen within a hunting bullet: flawless functioning, unrivaled reliability, and award-winning performance. New Berger Classic Hunter Series are available in 6.5mm 135gr, 270 cal 140gr, and the 7mm 150gr bullets. These new bullet additions complement our current 6mm, 270, 7mm and 30 caliber Classic Hunter offerings:

The new bullets look great but we really need a couple more .25cal offerings. The 87gr VLD was an excellent bullet for varmints in the .250 Savage and a nice 125 or 130 high bc hybrid would tickle me plumb to death in the .25-06 or .257 Weatherby. I would buy a custom made 8 twist barrel in a heart beat.

That's awesome. It seems Berger is always pushing the envelope to develop bigger and better things which I like but they always seem to skip over one of my favorites.

I shot a 400lb black bear this year at 400yds with my .243. I used the 95gr classic hunter. Being my first big animal I have hit with this bullet, I wasn't sure what to expect.
The bullet absolutely did what I look for in a bullet. I was shooting downhill at 16 degrees with bear quartering away. I tucked it behind front shoulder, 2 exit wounds, not sure if from frag or from the ribs and offside shoulder I exploded. Both lungs and heart were turned into a jello mess.
The bear jumped and was dead before he hit the ground. Also, this bullet was the most accurate bullet I tried in this gun. I really didnt noticed much of an accuracy difference if I jumped them .005 to .040. It just loved to jump. I never tried in lands, for I don't do that in my hunting guns, but they might like it.
I will be trying these in my hunting 6.5-284 I'm building this winter.
