Similar 185 grain loads

I have developed a load for a Mossberg Patriot 30-06:
185gr Berger Juggernaut
CCI 200
Lapua - turned necks, 0.003 neck tension
RL16 55.1gr
ES 17
SD 6
Jump CBTO 0.090
Tested using Magnetospeed, the results are a consistent 0.3MOA load over ten 5 shot groups.

I would like to develop a load using the 185gr Berger Classic. The CBTO is very different, using a Hornady comparator the CBTO for the Jug is 3.750 (lands) and the best accuracy came in at 3.660. The Classic touches the lands at 3.715...

Using this as a starting point, what would you try? I am trying to develop a hunting load using the same components except for a 185 grain Berger Classic. The CBTO (lands) of the Classic is 3.715. I am pondering if a similar load profile would produce a similar result considering both bullets are 185 gr, (time in barrel, pressure, etc...) and come from the same manufacturer, although the Classic has a longer bearing surface and a "steeper" ogive.

I am contemplating loading 25 cartridges at 55gr and conducting a Berger seating test, followed by 5 each at 54.1 54.4 54.7 55.3 55.6 (55 being covered by the seating test).

Or should I just do a complete new load work-up? This situation could be applied to a ELD-M\ELD-X, or other similar, same-weight loads.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

You'll still want to shoot the 55gr load with the other charge weights to confirm that its repeatable and see elevation of poi in relation to other charges.
How else will you know if that charge is climbing out, holding horizontally, or dropping back with a lower charge?
Ironically we are shooting a very similar load.
My jump is only .021 with the jugs.
56gr h4350, cci250, in turned lapua brass.
Shooting in the .3's.
Now looking at the jug on the rt compared to the classic hunter on left.
Looks like the jug has less bearing surface with a slightly longer boat tail than the classic hunter. The jug is .030 longer with a heavier jacket than the classic hunter.

Personally I'd load a charge weight test 1st, followed by seating, then fine tune charge, and test primers.
I'm curious as to what you come up with.
Looking like were both heading in same direction.
Keep me posted with your results.

IMHO, how case volume is effected by how far a bullet is seated into the case is more important than the difference in jump. So, I'd try an seat the bullet to where the base is at the same depth and keep the same powder charge and then vary the seating depth according to what I see on paper in order to get it tuned.

Use that 185 juggernaut to hunt with! You will be surprised at the results! Makes a good hunting bullet for anything mule deer and smaller!!!
