There is a scammer operating -- he is hacking conversations and attempting to sell a Garmin Chronograph.
Some guy just got burned by dealing with a hacked account.

Folks -- Do NOT Buy a Garmin on this site.

The guy is using PayPal F&F which is prohibited here.

NOTE: This scammer team is attempting Garmin sales on other Forums as well.

Not speaking to this site specifically, but yes that’s a very popular scammer method. Download published password and user account lists, find matches on the site, see which ones are inactive and the passwords work.
 
I wonder how many people realize that your info gets sent to 3rd party billing companies from health insurance company's, Dr's and Hospitals, IT DOES!!!
I had my info stolen for a 3rd time in Feb 2024 this makes it 3 now in 7 years from Dr's, Hospitals and this time from Change Healthcare who is a 3rd party billing company for Blue Cross Blue Shield.
I got sent a letter in August from Change Healthcare now Optimum funny how they change there name that this happened in Feb 2024 WTF so late. Well after 3 months of promising from Change Healthcare that they would tell me who provided them my info well now wont even answer my phone calls so my own due diligence found out it was Blue Cross Blue Shield and they admitted it.
The real kicker here is after talking with the Montana A.G office nothing I can do as long as they don't sell my info.
Now I know why I get 5-8 scam calls, texts and emails everyday ive got probably a 1,000 phone numbers blocked and they still at it everyday.
This is exactly why I do just about nothing electronic that has do do with money, if you think its safe I guarantee at some point you will get stuff hacked you don't have control of everything like I found out.
 
Ironic I just set my phone down and another scam call!!!
I know what I just posted doesn't pretain to what is happening on this site but it has been eye opening how easily these companies can get away with just passing your info out.
I would encourage everybody to Google change healhcare cyber attack, and looks like Nebraska is sueing them now

Same. I started getting calls and emails from Optum RX and was thinking “what the hell???” who is this bugging me now? Optum RX is part of Optum and contracted with Blue Cross to “help” you with your medical prescriptions. I bitched at BCBS for doing it. Basically sold me out colluding with another corp for profit under the guise of helping me stay healthier or whatever the angle was.
 
After the holidays I'm gonna due some talking with Blue Cross Blue shield and evertime I go to a Dr or hospital basically everthing anymore.
If they do 3rd party billing im going elsewhere.
The A.G office said something really needs to be done about this, he said its getting out of control
 
We found out more details from the user whose account was hacked. He was the subject of a data breach about which he was notified, and he had a password that was part of a personal history that may have been visible online. Don't want to say more.

But I am advising ALL members to use a unique password, change it every three months.
He was also putting his passwords in an online password manager which we believe may have been vulnerable.
 
And I hate to say this ... but with the sophistication of hackers now, all buyers MUST protect themselves.

Call the seller on the phone.
Ask for references. Check the guy's shooting club.
Require custom photos.
Use PayPal Goods and Services (NOT F&F!!!) which has buyer protection.
If you plan to send a check or money order, and you have a question, you can contact me and I can confirm the guy's real name and city/state. Be wary if the guy's location does not match his phone area code.

To take your money, these scammers typically set up a short-term hotmail account then use Zelle or PayPal F&F. Both those payment systems are not allowed here.
 
Boss i hate to say it but I was hacked about 4 years ago with PayPal goods and services business acct credit card. My nephew and wife's business acct credit card was hacked also and PayPal admitted to theres. Once I did away with any electronic attachment to a C.C not a problem other than the Healthcare info.
 
I like to go one step above the personal phone call and do a video call and request to see the item I’m purchasing during the call. If both buyer and seller have iPhones this is very easy to accomplish via FaceTime. If one has an Android it gets a little more complicated, but can be accomplished over Facebook messenger. The buyer and seller will both learn a lot about each other and you might pick up a new friend.
