DIY Case Trimmer

Finally got around to assembling a DIY case trimmer from parts I either had laying around or purchased....

1. Sewing machine motor from a garage sale: 10.00
2. Shaft Coupler: 11.00
3. Pillow Block bearing: 6.49
4. WFT trimmer: 35.00 ( used but like new at a gunshow )
4. Misc screws & spacers: 2.00
5. Scrap aluminum: ??
The only thing left is to put some sort of stop on the foot pedal to keep it from going at full rpms...or find another motor with a lower rating.... I know some folks would ask why not just use a drill or drill press...well, I just like to tinker...;)

You could turn around and sell that easy if you wanted. I like DIY projects like this, fun to do and use. I made my own case annealer and was going to try a powered powder trickler but I got lucky and found a new Omega trickler for $40.00!

Anyway I'm going to save your picture for later just in case.

Wife has two old sewing machines I keep attempting to canabilize for this very reason.. She's not giving in yet..

Nice job a mate of mine used a light dimmer switch to control the speed on a sewing machine motor for a different purpose and it's still going today and that was 20 year's ago.

Cheers Trev.
