Disapointment With one of the Advertisers...

I am building a 338 Edge for a customer. I needed some 300Remington Ultra Mag brass and 300 Grain Berger bullets. After doing some searching "MidwayUSA's" website indicated they had the products. On December 10, 2010, I placed an internet order. I got an imediate e-mail from MidwayUSA that my order had been received and was being processed. Yesterday, December 22, 2010, I had still not gotten my order so I called MidwayUSA. The girl on the other end researched my order and said both products were out of stock. They expected the 300 Ultra Mag brass on December 31, 2010 and the Berger Bullerts were expected toward the end of February 2011. Midway had not notified me that either of these products were being back ordered. I specifically asked when I ordered if they had the products in stock and was assured that they had the product. This is the second company that has misled me about a product they did not have in stock. If a company does not have a product they should be honest and tell the customer up front. I will think twice before ordering from MidwayUSA again.

I'm sorry about your Midway mishap and agree with you wholeheartedly that they should tell you when a item is out of stock.

I just ordered your micrometer reamer stop from them the other day. I called and asked specifically if they had it in stock, and they said yes. I received it yesterday.


I have had good experiences with Midway so far, they are a little high on prices sometime, but stock a lot of stuff.

Call them and let them know how you feel, sometimes the big guys forget about us little guys that made them who they are.


By the way, I'm the one that called you the other day when you were leaving work to ask you about floating reamer holders. Nice talking with you, and your micrometer reamer stop is nothing short of fantastic!

same thing happened with me a couple of years ago at Midway. I don't remember using them since. They at least sent an email days later that it was out of stock, placed on backorder, will have it in a few weeks, everytime I checked they kept moving it out a month. I finally cancelled it, and what do you know, the next day it is in stock. I think that was the last time I ordered from them. at bruno's they would call usually within a day, if something was out of stock when you ordered online, and would ask if I wanted to backorder, cancel, change the brand, etc. That is good customer service! I also started using Gunstop.com. In fact, I just call him now and he is a straight up guy. Some of the best service, so it is worth it.
 
Maybe, their computer/inventory system just couldn't keep up with the volume of orders being received.

I hope you get many years of use from the Micrometer Adjustable Reamer Stop. Keep it clean, oiled and packaged when not in use. They are made from tool steel and will rust.

Anyone who buys one of my tools knows they can call or e-mail any time and I will make an effort to help them either in process or tooling. I have sold several hundred MARS and the only two complaints I have received is that the need to come in a nice wooden box. They don't because they need to be protected from humidity and can't just be knocked around. The second complaint is that I did not put them on the market 20 years ago.
