Did you get anything good for Black Friday?

Did you get anything good for Black Friday?

Nothing for shooting, but picked up a bunch of socks at BassPro. Only 20% wool, but they had 4-packs for $20. Comfy, basic socks.

Have been considering the "Paul Bunyan" merino wool socks @ Darn Tough, but haven't pulled that trigger yet.

I've been looking for a CZ 457 American 17HMR used, not much out there. A phone call to Blagg Rifles in Pendelton, Oregon and a new one should be there very soon. My wonderful wife's comment was " I like you to have nice things". I have a new manufacture Win. falling block in 17HMR, but, we have a new area to shoot with lots of gophers, so a repeater is needed. A trigger fix and a 12X Leupold scope and I'll be in business. Why does it seem, as you get older that Christmas comes 2 or 3 times a year, but it's so long till April and the shooting season. Has anyone else noticed this? BUT, here I am almost 82 yrs. and still buying toys, gopher guns are still something I can use. The big ones, 270 Win and 300 Win. Mag. are in the back of the safe, still there 'just in case' I need 'em. I can't traverse the mountains back packing, on horse back or with a transit on my shoulder, or row a drift boat, or run a jet boat for duck hunting. But I can sure look back with a big smile and remember all those times, wonderful people and good dogs I had the privilege of knowing and being with. I'm thankful for a full and well rounded time here. The flask is still half full!!

It appears I bought a few pieces of quality jewelry. I guess I’ll have an easy time with Christmas shopping this year. I’m thinking the wife could use a nice 6BR. LOL
True story:
While we were in college a buddy bought his girlfriend a new camshaft FOR HIS TRUCK. He told her “But sweetie now I’ll be able to get to your house so much faster”

Found a Garmin Xero chrono in stock 2 weeks ago and bought it. Showed up a few days later.

THEN......today a 2nd Garmin chrono showed up.
I forgot that I put one on back order....oh well. If 1 is good, 2 has to be better. At least what I told the wife.

This getting old sucks....LOL

Greyboe and Sitka both had pretty great sales so I ordered a new stock for my 300 WM and a new set of hunting clothes. There were a lot of rifle stock makers offering 25-40% off on Black Friday.

I tried to do a little Christmas shopping for the wife and kid. Pretty unimpressive sales. I noticed a lot of places jacked their prices up a month or so in advance, and then dropped them to regular prices on Black Friday. But I digress.

Got a 21st century hand primer Tool Sinclair concentricity gauge (backordered) and a magneto speed sporter.

Anybody get anything good reloading or firearm wise this week?

Yes I bought a new turbocharger and 2 new braided hose lines, an exhaust manifold and stainless steel stud kit and a Banks exhaust brake for my new Ram 3500 enclosed ramp truck. Costs more than a new benchrest rifle. Maybe I ought to go back to shooting because it's much cheaper than my new hobby.
I could have told you that...at least the way you pursue a hobby! :)

You know me by now Greg and you know I always jump into everything I do with both feet. I bought the 2nd ramp truck August 30th and I already spent an additional 13K for stuff on the truck that I really didn't absolutely need, but what I spent is going to make it more reliable in the long run. All I'm doing is spending the kids that I never Had's inheritance.

Don’t forget the nursing home!

Arken Optic

FJF 10/22 Barrel

2 Boxes of 6.5 Grendel Ammo

A three 5 quart jugs of synthetic motor. I saved almost $10 per 5 quart jug over normal price!

Might have been a few other odds and ends. I was going to get brass, primers and bullets but I have 3 sons and 2 of them are still in college. So my twins often cut into my gun money! Just like any actual cash that ends up in my wallet freq. ends up in their wallets. They both work hard when not in school especially during the Summer so I do not mind!

You know often times you can get better deals through out the year if you keep an eye out for deals. That said there where some absolutely crazy good deals this Black Friday.
