Feel your pain. Had to get one son a new after accident. 3 months latter I was still looking for a good used car at a not insane price point. Could not do it. Ended up getting the wife a much newer vechile an AWD SUV and then handing my wifes 2007 Camry down to him.
As we where test driving vechiles and had not made up our mind on which direction we where going as in newer used car for him or her we had cars bought out from under us while test driving them. On top of that I once worked at this dealership when I was downsized from a HUGE full line domestic automobile manufacture so everyone new me from years ago. I had run of the lot and was just grabbing keys as fast as the wife and I could test drive vechiles. In one day I think we had 7 vechiles sold out from under us while we where test driving. We would get back to the lot and find the new owner smiling as we got out of the vechile. Over 4 days including one Monday that happened a few times. I felt like I was swiming int he ocen and someone decided to chum the water with me in it!
