Did Lapua stop making 6mm BR brass?

thats weird.... why would a shooting company say ah get rid of 6BR lapua brass..?

I too would think itd be a marketable product on the shelves to have. Maybe we are the market though, and outside the forum 6BR aint popular haha. Shiraz knows whats best for his business Im sure, hes a smart guy.
bullets has seemed to cancel alot of product lines over the years.

From what I am understanding and not misinformed, Lapua and Berger will be handling the sales and distribution of their brass and bullets from their new distribution center in Missouri the first of the year. They have allowed most all depletion of brass through the usual distributors. With a new container of brass on the way, now all major distributors ( Grafs, Midway, Bullets.com, Midsouth, Bruno's ) etc will have to purchase through the local distribution center and thus will be paying a higher wholesale rate which will be passed along to the regular consumers.

It will be interesting to see if and or how much the price increase will be next year with Berger as well.

This looks like good info to me. i went back and read what kevin thomas posted about this. there will be a distribution center in the us but its unclear to me who actually owns it and i wonder about this. Otherwise i understand what is going on and i believe lapua brass will be available before to long. I have never liked depending on one manufacturer for my brass especially a foreign manufacturer. I sure hope one of these US companies starts making 6br brass. im going to restart my project making 6br brass from 308 brass.

PS-- yeah i know i can get norma --i think ill try some. still its depending on something imported

I saw a box at Cabela's in Rodgers, MN about a week ago. Should have picked it up, but didn't need it myself.

It seems we have this discussion almost every year at this time. Everything that is happening now because of an economic decision by the wholesalers and retailers. These folks want to get everything they have off the shelves so that they don't have to pay taxes on the inventory at the end of the year.
Right now most manufacturers are running at reduced rates or have machines down to keep their own inventory low for the same reasons. Just before the first of the year, the manufacturers will crank up and make every pound they can.
At the same time, all the retailers are putting in their orders and they want all of it delivered to them by the 5th of January. It is a mad cycle.
At the same time in Europe (Lapua) virtually everything shuts down for 'Holiday". Between Dec 1st and Jan 15th over there, manufacturing is a virtual ghost town. You can't get ahold of technical, manufacturing or sales. They are all on 'Holiday". If you should get in touch with someone and need parts or service that is just tuff luck. When your normal contact gets back from "Holiday" then the wheels will start turning again.

I'm being told a couple of employees are becoming the middle men (Missouri warehouse).
It'll be March before everything is ironed out and running smooth.
Expect 100.oo a hundred ....

Don't shoot the messenger ....

I sure hope I can get setup with a wholesale account under this new arrangement. There’s a Crow Shooting Supply warehouse just down the street from my shop but they aren’t a Lapua/SK distributor anymore. Grafs is about the only wholesaler left I use but their freight on wholesale orders is downright criminal.

Brownells bought out Crow a few years back. Still Crow but Brownells pulls the strings.
