Did I get the wrong reamer?

I've gotten several pm's already about incorrect reamers.
Guess i'll chalk this up as a learning experience :)

For reference these are with my .164 freebore reamer.

That makes it pretty clear mine is not cut correctly.
I have to load to 2.800 oal and still have a faint rifling marks on the sharpie.

Thanks

I ran into this problem 3 times in the past. Now I run my reamers in barrel stubs to check before I chamber also I use it for a seating gauge

What is the ransom on a JGS reamer? I'm looking at changing reamer makers also after the last two I've received.

I don't what you guys think, but I've got a tool box full of Dave Mansons reamers and have always been happy with what his shop has sent me. There's several JGS in there, too,,,, along with a few PT&G (that I had Manson fix, because they either didn't cut or weren't 'right'). Slow learner, I guess!

They will run one through on and rush, but it doesn't mean it is gonna be right either. Ask me how I know this.

I hope the situation has been fixed, as I have not used the replacement for the replacement I got.

Oh, and the one reamer I bought from JGS was about $215 to my door. At just under the time quoted also.

Ya, they don't seem to understand that most of the time you don't know the reamer is not to spec until you chamber a barrel and then you have wasted a barrel to learn that. Send your gunsmithing bill with the reamer. Maybe they will do some quality control if guys start making them eat chamber jobs?

That'll go over well. Kinda like a fart in church. There's absolutely no chance they'd pay for the bill or any part of it.

Know what you mean there too. I've got one that I payed the extra $100 to rush. It only cuts on 1/2 the flutes.

Time I ordered the throat reamer I'm now around $225 not including return shipping.

My original reamer also only cut on 2 flutes.

I received bullets from Barry (CSS) and checked them in my unfired 6.5x47 Lapua with .175" freebore. I will post results for reference in case anyone else is having issues as well.
