Diagonal Strings?

New poster, but thanks for all the information to this point.
I am having Diagonal stings problem with my reloads.

Load:
6mm rem.
Rem brass
210m Primer
IMR4831 48 and 48.5gr
70 gr Nosler BT
Gun is a Sako forester action with Douglas XX barrel 1:12.

Would this be a of load adjustment or gun problem?
It is shooting in the high .2 to high .3’s with both loads.

If you have a round-forend-stocked 6mm Rem. shooting .2's and .3's with varmint bullets, it doesn't really matter what shape the groups are...that is smoking!

Are you timing your shot rate? Maybe the barrel is not quite settling in temp.
I know I can affect my grouping with a change in shot rate. 4s with 2min/shot, same load prints 2s @ 2.5min/shot. Velocity is the same, but barrel temp is different.

It has a 3" flat-forend-stock a heavy barrel. I got the Berger 68gr Match to shoot great, but would not hold a good group at 600 yards.

I have been shooting the 5 shots in 2 min. I will try slowing it down. I have been trying to shoot while conditions stay the same.

A diagonal string is most commonly attributed to a bedding problem. First thing, check the action screws. If tight, have a precision rifle builder check the bedding.

I still gotta think that is as good as it gets with a 6mm Rem and varmint bullets...

if the BR bullets do what they should, obviously the current bullet is to blame if nothing about the rifle changed...

Willy;
Are you using flags? If so, what condition were you shooting?
If you were shooting a Quartering condition & slightly missed a small pickup or letoff your groups will look just like you described. If you were not using flags, there is no way to diagnose your problem.

Here is a seating debth test that has stringing I shot the other day.They are 5 shots at 100yds.The bottom left group was with the bullet seated off the lands completely,no marks on ogive.The others are just touching with marks left on bullet.The groups started closing as I got up against the lands.
