Dewey .22 Rods Not for Rimfire

The tube that a Dewey rod comes in for .22 cal says not for rimfire. Why?

.22 rimfire is a bit smaller than 22 centerfire, and not particularly consistent (.216 to .220). Rimfires also deposit loads of crap in the bore, which could build up on/ damage the rod. It's likely a CYA statement required by the legal team.

My Bore Tech rimfire rod measures .190"...the 22 cal centerfire rod measures .200"......

I use a .20 cal. and a .17 cal. rod for my .22 rimfires. The Dewy is too tight.

Yup you needs the .20 rod.. and the adapter to use your stuff with it.. both at Dewey's cheaper than I could get them local shipped to my door..

It's because it's to tight and will actually leave rifling marks on the rod... I guess they got tired of people calling.. I have a ruined one my self... Now they put that on the tube... Don't forget to get the adapter for the smaller rods..
