dented lapua 22-250 case

I was sizing a lot of 100 22-250 cases and getting near the end I must have used a little too much sizing wax. The cases are twice fired. Is the case ok to use or should I cull it? Thx Ray

Ray,
Will it chamber in your rifle without any problems? if so it will fireform back to chamber dimensions after you shoot it and it shouldn't give you any problems. I have shot ones many times just like it without incident, however if it won't chamber or you have reservations about it it isn't worth the worry.

If it chambers, load it with reg charge, shoot it & dont sweat it!!! We have all learned how to use the proper amount of case lube doing that & getting cases stuck...... If you havent done one or the thuther, you will.... ;D

It chambered a couple of times with no problem. About the 3rd or 4th try it would not chamber. That being said, with your advice, I have made an executive decision to cull that piece of brass. Thx Ray

Been there done that ;D

I now only lube the bottom half of the case and the neck with imperial sizing wax, which works fine for me and no more dented cases.

Also, I clean out the die about every 100 cases as lube does start to accumulate.

For regular FL sizing I highly recommend you guys try Ballistol in the aerosol can. It is very slippery, goes on THIN and comes off very easily. It will also clean the carbon off the outside of the necks.

I do keep a tin of Imp Die Wax for heavy case-forming duties. But with good-fitting dies, a whisper of Ballistol may be all the lube you need -- and it won't give you the dented shoulders.
