Deleted my FB account

I came in for dinner(lunch) late today, my better half said she just deleted our Amazon account. I said, SHOW ME THE MONEY!

I am in the " never had a FB account" camp. It turns out that I am smarter than I thought.

Never had facebook or any other social media BS. I did cut the cable several years ago. One of the best moves in my life, it still feels good everytime I think about that..

Never been on any "social media" platform . None ! FB ( Drama Central ) , Pinterest , Instagram , Twitter , or any of the others . I warned many about Google , and their politically driven minions years ago , and others laughed . Was told I was seeing conspiracy's , and I was being paranoid . Took ya'll awhile to see the light , Huh ? It's only going to get worse for those of us on this side of the fence so buckle up , and get ready for what's coming . It ain't going to be pretty . Keep your friends close , and you're enemies even closer . They're arrogant now , and they will tell you what they are going to do .

I never had any social media accounts and never will. I have Whatsapp on my phone for messages to/from some friends/relatives overseas, but I just discovered that Facebook owns that messaging service so it's going away. All those other parties know my email address anyway so I don't need it. Now if I could find a way out of Google on my Android phone I could be shed of most of the problem in my eyes. The only intrusion left after that would be government, and well, no getting rid of that.

Never had an account with fakebook. The old manager on the property I hunt tried to get me on there years ago so I could "be part of what's going on" and get info pertaining to the lease. I just laughed at him.

I have always preferred face to face interactions.

"deactivated" twitter, real close to facebook, I'll be purging pictures soon. The responses I see to my right leaning friends has been vile and repulsive. My friends are ok, it's their friends that are the problem. My "friends" are all like minded, or family.

It took some doing, but I was able to finally delete my Facebook account...I got the password run around trying delete it, but I finally managed. The embolden lefty's are coming at us.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the problem runs much deeper than facebook, instagram or twitter. Still, nuking membership with them is a net positive but you need to get rid of your cell phone as well. They are much more intrusive and track your every move by default.

I posted this on another thread but I think it would go well here also. I spent some time Monday evening emailing several of the shooting related companies I've done business with for many years. The message went like this.......
"Ive noticed that your company has aligned itself with social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter and Google. Those companies have chosen to suppress the right of free speech from conservative Americans in an attempt to further their political views. I will not do business with organizations that support those who oppose my constitutional rights. In my view, it would be in the best interest of your company to sever ties with those companies that oppose the majority of your customer base. Thanks".

That went out to Midway, Brownells, Powder Valley, Bass Pro/Cabellas and several others that I can't remember at the moment. You gentlemen might consider doing the same and let them know this is not something that is going to blow over any time soon.

Edit to add: I received a response back from Midway as follows........
"Thanks for reaching out to us. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are very sorry but we cannot control other companies policies and how they enforce those policies."
I let them know that they had completely missed the point.
