Defiance Prefit in weatherby 307 action?

I’m planning on trying a defiance Prefit barrel in a weatherby 307 action.

I’ve been wanting to get a rifle for the kids and I just wasn’t happy with the offerings. I found a proof barrel made for a defiance action for a steal of a deal. I went ahead and ordered the weatherby action and the barrel.

Here’s my thinking on the fit…
Ruckus barrel tenon .955 with .25 recoil lug
307 barrel tenon .880 with .191 recoil lug

So .880-.191=.689
.955-.689=.266 recoil lug

Now I’m having a .266 recoil lug made so the .955 tenon fits the weatherby action.

It’s seems like it should work?

Hopefully the bolt nose and barrel tennon are compatable. Looks like a nice action.

Looks like a nice action.

I gave a 307 action a short fondle. My impression was the action was better-machined than many production actions but not on the level of a custom. For the price the 307 is a good option.

Thanks guys. Ya know @JEFFPPC I looked and didn’t see that, I actually thought it was kind of weird this forum didn’t have a section like that. Thank you. I’ll start another thread over there.
