Defiance Deviant bolt knob....

Building a 6mm br or 6Dasher on a Deviant short action. As bought, it has a round bolt knob, and looking at Defiance Machine site, they sell other bolt "handles/knobs" . But, if the pictures are accurate, the bolt knobs have male threads. My handle's knob has female threads to screw onto the handle . Am I missing something? I don't see how the knob can be replaced with what's shown on their site, but I'm sure it's my ignorance...! rsbhunter@yahoo.com

The bolt handles shown on their website are not for a Deviant Bolt.

The Deviant and Rebel use a different style bolt.

The Deviant and Rebel models use a female knob. The Ruckus, Tenacity and Anti actions use the male threaded arm.

Defiance offers ball, teardrop and tactical options for the Deviant. Most any aftermarket 5/16-24 knob should work, but most likely won't make a smooth transition into the arm.

Ok, I'll look into other knobs....just wish I had known the limitations of the Deviant actions options, my fault. I think I'll still be happy with the action as a whole...rsbhunter

There are 5 choices for a Rebel and Deviant shown installed on bolts on the website

Yes, I see those now, I had been looking at the ones shown under the "accessories" section that specify .430 or .350 dia. I will call and order a knob this week...Thanks for reminding me to do deeper research before coming to a conclusion . rsbhunter

Dusty, just got off of the phone with Taylor from Defiant, and ordered the long tactical knob. He was awesome in explaining the difference between the actions that replace bolt HANDLES, and the one's that use KNOBS. My ignorance, but he gave me all the info I needed, and the experience was great....I can see a Deviant Elite in my future....rsbhunter

Recieved the new Tactical long knob today...GREAT customer service, cost, and shipping was extremely fast.Talked to Taylor, and he was super helpful. I would recommend Defiance Machine in a minute...rsbhunter

Just an update, brought the new Deviant action and Bartlien blank to my gunsmith today. Called him back to ask if he would leave the ejector off the bolt , as I don't want my brass being ejected, easier to remove from the action. My gunsmith had already started on the job (the stars had aligned) and told me that he had called Defiance Machine cause the extractor was messed up. It sits to far into the bolt face and either won't slip over the case rim, or distorts the rim if you push hard enough to get it engaged!!!! (F!$&#ng stars). Or well, they are sending a will call tag for the bolt, so not all's lost...just a little more wait, which is fine....rsbhunter
