Defiance Deviant Action....port size?

Hey fellas....a few days back I posted a question regarding the build of a 7mm WSM on a short action. If this quest falls through, then I'll settle on the long action. I'm trying to exaust all resources first. I noticed defiance had 2 different short actions. A med and Xmed. On bugholes.com, they have a short action and it says the port is .400 longer than remingtons. Is that the ejection port I assume or the mag well port?? Anyone have these actions and mag port dimensions? Trying to run this build mag fed. Thanks

The Defiance short action which i think they call medium is what you want to use. That is what GA and many others are using to build the WSM & SAUM using a DBM or BDL type setup.

The port on my Deviant measures 2.814, hope this helps. As I recall they call it a target port. This is the ejection port, sorry I just reread your post.

Give them a call, great folks to work with and I'm sure you will get the correct info that way.

If you order a medium action from Defiance, you can choose the length of the ejection port. Here is the link to the various options: http://defiancemachine.com/options/ You can also specify other options not shown.

The medium action magazine cutout is about 2.94"....little longer than a Remington 700 SA. Once again, you can specify the type of magazine cutout you want if you custom order from Defiance: Remington, AICS, or AW
