Defiance Classic

I took the scope rail off the Classic action today to reset it and torque it down to my own eyes inspection. There’s some pride in the work at Defiance to send out a rail like this that is very precisely pinned in two places plus the four screws in a value priced action.

I still prefer the kelbly atlas and atlas lite over my classic and renegade. The crosshairs dont go crazy on the target when you dry fire them from a rest or bipod like the defiance, the kelblys is slicker to my feel, kelblys ejector design is badass, triggers seem happier, fit a 700 stock better, i just overall like them better.

That’s some real world experience right there that’s free of charge. Thanks!

What would cause that?

I have a short Defiance Classic Action with Wyatt cut on a 6 mm Creedmoor hunting rifle that I built last year. The action is well machined and functions smoothly. I noticed while testing loads from a rest last week there was noticeable jump when dry firing at 45 power on a 100 yard target. More than I've noticed with other actions. I was able to dampen that for the most part by adding some backward force on the grip. The pull was about the amount I would have used in the field to hold the rifle in my shoulder. My thought at the time was this thing has a heavy spring! I've had the bolt apart and nothing is ill fitted or dragging.
