McMillan stock

I bought a McMillan stock that was used as an m40a1 replica. It's cut for a rem 700 short action and has a m40a1 inlet. I have a rem 700 short action that I am wanting to use in this stock but I don't have an m40a1 bottom metal. Is there anywhere I can purchase m40a1 bottom metal? Should I modify a model 70 or should I just send it back to McMillian to have them cut the inlet for a badger or ptg.

I am using a kreiger barrel (6.5x47) on a Rem 700 SA
