My SA classic has a 2-3/4" ejection port i believe same as a model 7It looks like the ejection port is longer
Who is fire selling these in short action right now ?
I have an old school M40A1 stock inletted for a short 700 new. Will the classic drop in ? I don't want to modify the stock as it is real USMC from the 80's.
It looks like the ejection port is longer
Thx
What did he hate about it???I had a customer that got one and hated it. He was not impressed.

I have found it would be very difficult to hate a defiance.
I’ve been happy with Defiance, I also discovered Kauger. Incredible value on a superb action. Might be worth a look.
That action looks good. I like the Sheridan WY stamped on it.I've got a Creedmoor built on a classic action. Dropped right into an HS Precision stock with no issue if that helps. An action you may consider is the Weatherby 307 builders action. Midway had them on sale a couple weeks ago for like $630. I was hesitant because of some reviews I have read but I couldn't be more pleased with it. Its light weight, very smooth and classically styled which I like with all of the upgraded features you want in an action. I spun up a 24" Proof sendero light in 7 SAUM and after the first range trip it looks like its going to be a shooter.

I liked the 8-40 base screw base holes on it too.I want to say yes. It comes with a nice chambering diagram in the box and the measurements I took from my action in hand matched exactly what the diagram was telling me. Like I said I was impressed with what I saw vs what I paid.
What are you talking about? You set the head space when chambering. Your not talking about the terrible Deffiance marketing bragging about their sloppy for cost head space gurantee are you? Lot's of typo's in their web site for a company that wants just under $2000 for an action!Does that action hold headspace that you know of?

The problem with the Defiance is the price versus quality of machine work. It is not that there is anything wrong with them outside of the fact that they are not much better than an accuraized factory rifle but for a lot more money. Plenty of other custom makers that make products just as good or better for a lot less money. Defiance to me is like purchashing a Chevy but paying Ferrari prices. I also consider them the action of hipsters that want to look like PRS and NRL competitors if they are or not. Same sort of guys that would put a 3lbs. scope on a 5lbs. rifle.

The Classic at Red Hawk looks to be the skeletonized model.Red Hawk rifles $891
You will have a little sliver of wood higher than the back part of the port. On my Tenacity action, it is only cosmetic in a HS stock.
