Deep primer pockets in 6mm br Lapua brass?

I have 200 new lapua 6 br brass and when I went to square the primer pockets I found them to be to deep for my sinclair tool to reach. It barely scratches the very outside of the primer pocket, but won't even touch closer to the flash hole. Has anyone else found this to be the case?

I am fine with this other than after I deprime I like to use the primer pocket squaring tool to remove the fired primer residue. I just turn it in my cases by hand and it works great to clean them out.

I don't like the "clustered wire" cleaners to remove the residue, it seem like it scratches up the pockets to much, and over time may remove to much brass.

Any cleaning advice would be appreciated

Sinclair makes 2 different small rifle pocket uniformers. One is for small rifle and the other is for small rifle PPC/BR Lapua and Norma Brass only. You must have #749-003-709sb you need #749-003-713sb

I assume the depth is greater on the PPC/BR greater.

If I have measured correctly the small rifle uniformer cuts to a depth of .119" and the small rifle BR uniformer cut to a depth of .1205"-.1210"

I use the wire cleaner, but I don't get the pockets "shinney", just knock off the residue. I haven't had any problems doing it this way!

Lapua brass primer pockets are a little deep , but after they are fired a few times they set back and are a lot closer in depth. It's no big problem the flash hole size varies as much or more than the depth.......... jim
